what is emulator
An emulator is a device that allows a computer to receive instructions from a program written for another computer. That is, any hardware or software that enables a computer system (host computer) to behave like any other computer system (guest computer). It can be hardware, software or a combination of both. For example: a terminal emulation program that helps connect a terminal to a mainframe computer. A common example of an emulator is the command line interface used in the Windows operating system, which enables DOS commands to run on Windows.
