Buying and selling various products or services through electronic means such as internet or other computer networks is called e-commerce. One of the ways to earn money through internet is e-commerce.

Technologies involved in e-commerce include electronic fund transfer, supply chain management, internet marketing, online product buying and selling, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange, inventory management systems and automated data collection.

The impact of information and communication technology has profoundly changed the world economy. People have no workplace where technology has not touched. At present, due to the availability and speed of office automation and internet connection, there are billions of commercial transactions, billions of messages and e-mails being shared every day. Currently the Internet is the driving force behind the growth of the economy and the regulator of job creation.

The full meaning of e-commerce is electronic commerce. E-commerce is the act of buying, selling, transferring or exchanging goods, services and information using computer networks and other electronic technologies in Internet technology. E-commerce is a field of commerce where transactions of goods or services are completed through an electronic system. Modern e-commerce usually conducts business through the World Wide Web. Also used are mobile commerce, electronic fund transfer and some other means.

The advantages of e-commerce are-

1. The quality of business can be specially developed.

2. E-commerce helps an organization to enter the national and international market.

3. E-commerce greatly reduces the cost of processing data such as creating, distributing, storing and reading data.

4. Easily builds good buyer-seller relationship.

5. E-commerce saves time and delivers products to consumers very quickly.

The speed and size of e-commerce is increasing due to the increase in online transactions around the world. From 2011-12, the spread of e-commerce in Bangladesh also started gradually. At present, everything from books to clothes, clothes, food, fancy items, etc. are being sold online. At some point in the near future, all kinds of business and commerce in the world will be conducted through e-commerce.
