Flash Disk
A flash disk is a data storage medium that looks like a lightweight and easily portable pen cap. It is also called pen disk.
It is a new helpful memory medium for easy writing and reading of data by inserting it into the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port of the computer's motherboard. Using the USB interface 1.1, this pendisk can be quickly copied or read through it by inserting it into the Goleo port.
The capacity of pendisks is now available up to a lot more gigabytes. At full speed these disks can transfer data at speeds of more than 12 megabits per second.
It does not require any separate power supply as it receives power from USB port. It has the advantages of right / delete protection switch, shock resistance etc. As durables storage, it can hold data for up to 10 years. There is no hassle in installing due to hot plug and play facility. Windows and any operating system like Mac or Linux supports it. As a result, it can be used on any platform if it has a USB port.
